Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Home Health Coder to accurately assign ICD-10 codes to patient records and ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines. The ideal candidate will work closely with clinical staff to optimize reimbursement and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10 codes.
- Ensure coding practices align with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain coding accuracy to optimize reimbursement while ensuring compliance.
- Stay current on industry regulations and coding updates.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure documentation and coding accuracy.
- Educate clinical staff on documentation and coding requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of home health coding experience.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, HCS-D).
- Proficient in ICD-10 coding standards, OASIS assessments, and home health regulations.
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with home health software (e.g., Homecare Homebase, Kinnser).
- Advanced certification in home health coding (e.g., COS-C).
- Knowledge of PDGM (Patient-Driven Groupings Model).
